Niko Antonucci

Pianist, Guitarist and Composer

Czechia/USA

Niko Antonucci was born in Prague, Czech Republic, in 1991, into a middle-class family. From a young age, Niko exhibited a keen interest in music, particularly the piano, which she began playing at the age of three and quickly became her favorite instrument. Niko naturally gravitated towards composing more sentimental and darker pieces, as she felt a deep emotional connection with such music.

By 13, Niko expanded her musical skills to include guitar, exploring punk rock and classic rock 'n' roll. This period also marked the beginning of her songwriting journey, producing melancholic tracks that reflected her introspective nature. At 15, with the support of her mother and sister, Niko recorded her first demo, "By The Desk," which garnered attention from producers and talent scouts across the Czech Republic and Europe.

Niko's musical career progressed with the recording of her first album in Germany under the alias "The Libido," followed by a second album in Prague, although the latter was never officially released. She performed with various bands and as a solo acoustic singer-songwriter, but often struggled with stage fright and a lack of confidence, which tempered her satisfaction with these experiences.

Seeking a distinct personal sound, Niko ventured into electronic music production at 21, culminating in the creation of the alias "Resin." Under this name, she released two self-produced EPs and collaborated on an album titled "Orphantales," blending dark beats with cinematic soundscapes and grungy vocals.

While continuing to wrestle with stage fright, Niko found a new avenue in composing music for film, beginning with a sci-fi script titled "Right Forward Turret." This experience affirmed her calling in music composition and film scoring, embracing a versatile approach across various genres. Now based in New York City, Niko has composed scores for short films, commercials, and feature-length films, as well as personal compositions.
