Nico Sleator is a pianist, composer, producer, music director, DJ, and teacher based in New York City. He is an internationally touring musician who specializes in Pop, Classical, Jazz, Electronica, Techno, House, Trance, UK Garage, D’n’B and Rock. Fluent in many styles of music, he has become a sought after producer and composer for pop artists, rappers, film scoring, podcast scoring, sound design, mixing and mastering. He has performed at venues such as Lincoln Center in New York, La Place Vendome in Paris and La Capital Theatre in Quebec, and has scored award winning podcasts, received grants for his commissions and produced world renowned artists.

He has been commissioned to create scores for Fireside Mystery Theatre, Man In Space, Lova’s Game, Greta Elbogen’s The Best Teacher, and the music education app Notefull. He is the recipient of a grant from the Creative Entrepreneur Grantfrom Pittsburgh Partners in the Arts, and Podcasts he has worked on have received accolades such as Best Sound and Musical Score at the Atlanta Fringe festival, Best Podcast for the 2022 Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival best Directing for Fiction Podcast by the New Zealand Web Fest.

Born and raised in Pittsburgh PA, Nico has been studying classical piano since the age of 7, and has been named a Steinway young artist at the age of 13. He then began to study jazz and taught himself music production, inspired by artists like Bill Evans and Skrillex. He recently graduated from The New School for Jazz with a BFA for Jazz Piano Performance, and works as a composer, producer, engineer, performer, and teacher in NYC.
